Hi there, I was given a beautiful antique East German made Exa Ihagee Dresden SLR camera this morning and it's in great condition. Now after playing with it for a while I still don't know what are those knots and buttons for. I tried to google for a manual but just couldn't find any. Maybe I was looking at the wrong place, just wonder if anyone knows where I can get one or buy one off the internet? Or if you happen to have one, would you like to sell it? Thanks so much.

Yes, this is it. Thank you so much. I'm going to print it off now and get some film and start shooting.

Geez~~~I got too excited. After printing the manual, I noticed there's a page missing which is the front of the camera and I think that's where the shutter button is. Ok, so I'll have to try to press all the buttons/knobs at the front to see which is the shutter. This is going to be fun :!:

Why don't you stop by Henry's or Vistek? Maybe some film nerd knows this camera inside out…

Yeah, I found it after reading through the whole manual. It's actually the same button as to where I screw in the cable release  Now if I can figure out how to detach the adapter for this cable release which is a strange looking thing that's attached to my lens then I can press the shutter directly :?

How about a picture..some of us have used ancient cameras, and may be able to tell you by sight.

I gave up. I don't know how to post an image here anymore

Interesting.

Sometimes I find the old cameras so un-ergonomic that I get far less shake if I just use the cable release.

But I don't like to use a cable release unless I really have to use it. I have one that's brand new for years and the one for my DSLR is still like new.

Huh?! I was just busy with things so I didn't have anything to post before and I also ran out of garbage and Holga shots  but I'll be more than happy to post some Exa shots if I figure out how to focus accurately while everything is reversed when I look into the prism. There is something not right but I don't quite know what. I'll figure it out tomorrow because I don't want to waste another roll of film
