I get a lot of people asking me about adapting X brand lens to Y brand camera. Here's a great website that helped me understand all about it when I started adapting lenses.

Just an FYI, I currently mount Nikon Ai-S lenses onto my Canon cameras.

Another awesome alternative are the contax/yashica Zeiss lenses. They cost a bit more than the nikon ones though

I bought an adapter for my g/f to enable her to use a Nikon lens (50mm f1.8, I didn't like Canon's 50mm f1.8) on her Canon and it works well (manual mode).

i got one for c/y to eos for $22 shipped from Big_IS, adapter is programmable EMF chip and was really good quality, unlike most adapter i had bought from HK before
