Interesting article about the topic, shows that quality if affected when testing different versions of the same camera as well.

But this goes against how everyone's lens is a sharp copy and/or is tack sharp when they put it up for sale.

Or maybe it supports it, I don't know what to think anymore, damn impartial testing.

FS: TACK SHARP lens, went through 5 copies to get this one!!!

**Must be used with the body I also happen to have up for sale in order experience this MAAD SHARPNESS!!

I suppose.. if you select the sharpest lens, on the body you currently own. It's still the best you can do given the situation. BUT if you're looking to buy a body and a lens at the same time, you're SOL.

It is all to do with mass production. Everything is within tolerances. Now we have 25 megapixel cameras and when we pixel peep down to the pixel level we are disappointed.

Another casualty of the megapixel race.

Simple solution, when I was shooting fashion and red carpets I had one of my bodies and a specific lens calibrated together, the combination resulted in extremely sharp images, simple!
