Or for $14 more you get a brand new Canon one shipped to your door from B&H ($91.55 according to Photo Price).

Seems like a bit of a no-brainer to me.

LOL! Or that! :P

Ooooh sweet!!! Thanks Rhommel!

The only thing is this:

**The SL-E6 does not have the data chip necessary to provide storeable information on the Canon 5D/7D's battery registry screen.

But then the only thing I really want to know is the charge I suppose.

What does that mean? What info would it store on the screen?
The other option is to buy the real Canon batteries from B&H - it is $88.43 to the door including taxes and brokerage fees - that is only a $10 premium over the third version. Although if you are in a hurry then DVShop looks like a good alternative.

Well...I was tinkering with my 7D the other night and noticed that it did have other information on the battery such as

-remaining capacity
-shutter count
-recharge performance

http://www.foto-biz.com/Canon/Battery-info

I'm guessing this is what that little footer meant. :)

Edit: And in case any of you ask about the shutter count:

It uses the same battery as the T2i, which AFAIK is not chipped.

Thanks. I'm asking because a friend of mine is thinking of buying the one from BattDepot for $10.50.
