I hope this baby comes in at a reasonable price, as this is old school back to my roots, as the first camera I used alot was this Konica Auto S2

Image

I still actually have this Konica........should get it fixed up and working again, so I have an excuse to use up the film in the fridge........LOL

I'm getting mine when it's priced correctly. :D It'll look awesome when I pull it out of its Crumpler case.

Personally I think this type of camera is meant to be marketed to the hipster-artsy-i-went-to-art-school types who want to look a certain way when taking average shots. mind you if this camera is any good it will allow them to take above average shots :P

I'm looking forward to seeing a hands on review of a production camera, and getting my sweaty palm prints all over one of these in person sometime in the near future.

the samples in this Spanish writeup really impressed me:

with Olympus refusing to release an m43 Pen body that does what I need, I may get one of these instead.

The Camera Store's Chris Niccolls had a chance to use the very exciting Fujifilm X100 for a day. So he grabbed renowned photographer Tyler Stalman (www.stalman.com) and spent a day in the freezing Alberta cold taking photos. Chris and Tyler check out the innovative hybrid viewfinder, camera controls, and test out the amazing sync speed for flash photography.

I'm pretty excited for this camera. Looking to get one!

I pre-ordered mine this week. no commitment to buy, but every new thing I see about it makes me more confident that I'm gonna have one of these in a few months.

Anyone have experience on who gets their preorders shipped the earliest? Henry's or Vistek?

I have some Henry's giftcards too.. wonder if I could use that to pay for a preorder?

I feel like at 1200 they could have included a full 35mm sensor

If I was interested in the camera, and that is a humungus if, I would be buying the camera for street shooting, with a lot of from the hip or a quick raising of the camera to eye to look through the view finder or use the hot shoe as sight, shoot and down again. No time to manual focus precisely and not trusting AF here in this situation, the extra dof at hyperfocal or what ever other manual prefocus was choosen would be welcomed from the croped sensor.

TO EACH HIS OWN

Beta Samples From DPReview. Neat, but still WAY overpriced.

I agree, however I think it's way beyond the right pricing for what the camera offers. This is all relative of course

Thats why it was a humungus if. The G9 is still my favourite stealthy street camera. And talking about stealthy street cameras I saw some s90 s probably open box for $269 at Henry's outlet today. There were at least 6 there beside some G11 s, didn't see a price on the 11 s though.
