I recently came into an old Nikkormat FT-N w/ a selection of Nikon and Soligor Lenses.
I'm not serious about shooting film (though I expect I'll play a bit, and I'm not really looking to sell, (from what I see the prices aren't worth it anyway,) what I'm more interested in would be adapting the lenses to my Canon EOS digital.

Anyone have any experience with this? is it worth the hassle/money? or is it not worth the effort.

Sure, no problems whatsoever. Buy adapter and shoot. ($2-20 per adapter) make sure you have good eyesight or use one of the -S series focusing screens

I currently shoot with a Nikon 50/1.2 Ai, Nikon 105/1.8 Ai-S, and Nikon 85/2.8 PC on a Canon body. The usual cheap ebay adapters can mount on all Nikon lenses except for G lenses since they don't have aperture rings. Look for a brand called Fotodiox.. best adapter I've used.

On a side note, a brand called Novoflex recently released an adapter for Nikon G lenses to Canon EOS bodies.

Thanks guys, I'm glad to hear the e-bay one's are worth it, as the Novoflex one was the main one that showed up when I was googling around, and I didn't really want to drop a few hundred just in hopes these lenses might be alright :)

Don't buy the cheap ones. I've tried some and sometimes they don't mount correctly. You can get the Fotodiox ones on ebay for around $20. These are the best.

I already pulled the trigger based on your recommendation.. The prices seemed quite reasonable. Thanks again.

Ha, yes, I used to do this.. as others have mentioned, the adapters can be purchased easily on ebay.. Definitely consider getting a focusing screen (not sure how much those cost nor how to get one?). I found it tricky to focus manually without one.

The focusing screen will be different according to the Canon camera body you have.

Thanks for the help and tips guys.. just got my adapter ring in today and started toying.. I'll flickr some stuff when I get a chance to shoot in something other than a dark basement. Just waiting on my new focus screen now.
Fotodiox definitely has a good price on a solid adapter ring.. fits the canon and the lenses like a glove. A++
