Hello! I've went last yer and it was a ZOO! :)

Anyone knows what would be the chances that I can grab a particular used lens (Canon 10-22) over there?

Cheers!

I looked at the deals last time at the Henry's show -- and there wasn't much of a 'deal'

The Henry's show is just a temporary store set up for a weekend. Same prices as the stores, full MSRP.

I'm actually going to go to this show for the first time in years just to attend Sam Javanrouh's presentation on Saturday. I love the way he captures Toronto on his Daily Dose of Imagery (http://wvs.topleftpixel.com/) and he is just a nice dude.

Thanks to nuborn for the link to the tickets!

Did anyone go and play with the new D7000? If you did how was the new camera?

I got to play with it...... Very similar to all other Nikon DSLR's in operation and function. The spec's are the big difference. The menu system is a bit different, but not a huge shift. I picked up a brochure.

I was also impressed with Pentax's 645D which they had on display. That is a sweet camera!

D7000 is a big improvement over D90 or not? or not enough time to play with it?

I'd say its definately an improvement -- its like having a D700 in a D90 body in terms of processing, with more megapixels... the D7000 is definately an improvement over the 90. No ifs ands or butts about that one.

Thanks for the input. I'm looking to finally upgrade early next yr, maybe. Sounds like the D7000 is what I'm looking for in a DX camera. But you know that the FX version will be out sometime next yr, D800?

i ended up going Saturday at 3pm. The 401 traffic was horrendous but because the show was free i really enjoyed it.

I got to play with the Sigma 200-500/2.8. that's a beast.

the Zeiss ZEs 21/2.8, 35/1.4, 50/2 & 100/2. They were awesome. The 21/2.8 has a reputation for being giant, but I thought it was actually compact.

i was dissappointed that the westcott booth didn't have a Apollo 50" softbox on display, i was kinda curious of that.

The nikon booth was at the front, it was interesting playing with the d3s & 300/2.8, but didn't really feel like waiting behind the crowds to try the other bodies.

didn't end up buying anything but got what i came for, confirmation that the zeiss lenses are what i am looking for. looking for a deal on ebay now.

I went to the show on Sunday and had a great day. Tried out some lenses, and met the photographer where I had my first lesson with at Henry's. I came out only purchasing a think tank airport international v 2.0 and the 70-200 coffee mug. If only Henry's carried Elinchrom, I would of came out a lot lighter in the wallet.

I checked out the Wescott booth and didn't see anything I liked except for the model. I ended up talking to her and got a shoot lined up with her. I also talked to the girl Diana at another booth but haven't contacted her yet because she is more into television reporting.

Was gonna buy a sekonic meter but resisted the temptation.

The only thing I wanted to look at was the Pentax D645. It is less heavy than I thought. But the viewfinder beat everything I saw except the other MF bodies. At $10K a pop, that will be using up my gear budget for next 10 years.

Did you get a good deal on the Think Tank Airport International? I missed the show but am interested in the Think Tank line of bags.

Wonder how much it will be rented out for?

I didn't get a great deal but I saved 40.00 and I love this bag. I also use a think tank retrospective 30 to walk around. I love the think tank line as well.

I almost left the show with a Think Tank Retrospective 30 (or 20) Lens Changer bag. Prices were a few dollars off their list price, but I just couldn't pull the trigger especially after purchasing a Lowepro Flipside 400 just a few weeks prior.

Don't you find it heavy to carry all that gear over one shoulder? I used to use a Crumpler 6 Million Dollar Home and found it made my shoulder sore after a full day out.

Now that you mention it, I started to see a chiropractor for the last month and a half to address a separate issue with my neck but learned that the angle of my hip is off by a few degrees and there's a curve in the middle of my spine that isn't normal from the x-rays. Given how things are off, I'm certain that this was caused by the constant weight on my right shoulder when I used a single bag or the backpack on the one shoulder vs both shoulders.

Something to think about for those carrying gear over one shoulder for a prolonged period of time.

Yup. I definitely feel sore after a while with a laden 6 or 8 MDH. My lower back and trapezius on my left side. If I don't load them up it's not too bad. I sort of regret not getting a backpack or something like the Kata 3n1, except not a Kata or a Lowepro, instead of the 8MDH for carrying all my stuff. Don't get me wrong, the 8 is great to use if I don't have to carry it all day or, like I said, if I don't load it up too much.

The 358 model.

I know it looks geeky, but I'm glad I had the Cotton Carrier when doing a shoot a few weeks back. The only thing that was sore after walking around with 3 cameras on me were my feet. When walking with my backpack (1 body, 3 lenses, flash) where I know it maybe at least 5 minutes of walking, I'll put both straps on both shoulders.

I have a think tank retro 30, a crumpler 7 million dollar home, crumpler whickey and cox and think tank airport international v2. I thought I was a bag-a-holic but the real problem is that I want to take everything with me all the time. I have made wrong choices in bags but now I take what I need.

Once I take both bodies out of the retro 30, it is lighter. Once I had one body slinged with R strap and the other around my neck, with the bag slinged and on the other side my tripod bag slinged. My little brother who is a chiropractor was visiting my kids saw me come back from the park and was laughing. He didn't notice the equipment but my posture. LOL
