So i emailed Downtown Camera to see if they could process some 620 film i have been shooting since i picked up a vintage Kodak Reflex II TLR recently on ebay recently. Here's there response.

Hi Derek,

Coincidentally, we're doing a test with 620 film later this week to make sure our spools and the C41 processor will take it. I'll email you on Wednesday to let you know for sure - if we can, you can drop off your film any time you like.

Cheers,
Jen

Can you still buy 620 film? And if so -- what camera's use it? I was thinking of shooting 220 in my camera, as my plate adjusts for 120 or 220.

Several places stock 120 film respooled onto 620 spools aswell as 120 spools cut down to fit into camera's designed for 620. B&H have quite a decent selection of fresh 620. Or you can buy 120 film and respool it by hand onto 620 spools.

620 was Kodaks proprietary film, so mostly old vintage Kodaks take it. Nice thing is, due to this little but of extra hassel, 620 film cam prices are very depressed.

For example, my Reflex II, in Ex condition, was only $20 on ebay.

Downtown Camera does indeed process 620. I've taken rolls from my Kodak Medalist II there on several occasions. 620 is the same size film as 120 but with a slightly shorter spool. Just make sure to ask them to return the 620 spool to you as they are very scarce.

B & H carries 620 film (all Kodak products not unsurprisingly) - I don't know if anywhere local carries it....

Just got an update.

Hi Derek,

Just did the test today -- we can process 620 in C41, E6 or B/W, so you can drop off film whenever you'd like.

Cheers,
Jen

Yes all in house including B&W but they only do B&W once a week (Stan said they are thinking about doing B&W more times a week. One hour service with 220 is a real bargain twice as much at only 50% more then 120

Had some 620 processed at downtown camera about 2 months ago, no problems, negs came back at little scratched though. I have since started developing my own 620 C-41 at home for the ultimate in qualiy control.

620 spools are hard to come by locally. I buy all mine off of eBay at insane prices(20$ for 3). So I only have a handful. Once in a while you'll see a wack of them on eBay for a good price, something like 10 20$.
