For 30 bucks I might give it a go, anyone tried it. Henry's list them for $29.95. Being OPTEX or Cameron branding the build quality may not be that great, but has DIY potential.

wow, can anyone really see using one of those, even if you had one?

I loved how they asked the girl to show how much trouble she was having using the tripod. What acting! If she can't extend the leg of a tripod, she's probably not going to understand how to use the steadepod!

I made this one a long time ago and it's a lot more compact. :) It does help, especially if you have shaky hands.

Just go to Home Depot and buy a 1/4"-20 screw (or even better a hook with a 1/4"-20 thread), tie some string on the end, and tie a washer to the other end...you just saved $29.45!

At first I thought this was going to be an inexpensive gyroscope, considering the neat looking design and switch on it.

I build this from scraps I had on hand a few years ago:

<a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/jpH3biOdFDj6vh9qiwJb5w?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_Cnno-qkNKoI/TFBHQo2vM9I/AAAAAAAAJdU/yHkqcnKrW14/s800/_20100728_1.jpg"></a>

It doesn't work that well and I don't use it very much. You can gain about one stop with a light camera.

you'd be surprised how much that reduces camera shake!! You get some nice crisp clean black photos. (unless you have the 24-70 light leak, of course LOL)
