I am already very happy with the MKII as it compares to the MKI and the f4 IS. Now I just did a quick chart test to see how the 70-200 2.8 IS MKII + 1.4X TC compares to the 300mm f 4.0 IS. I am very impressed!

I tried MKII at WPPI earlier this month and was really impressed.
I use a non IS version and a bit hesitant to upgrade it as Canon has only 1 year warranty. After 17-55IS-fail they brought to the market I am having a bit of a hard time trusting their IS.

How does the focus speed compare?

AF is very fast, even with the 1.4X TC.
