This was posted on the DP Review PMA Sneak Peek page. They claim it is NOT a Photoshop fake.

There have been similar crude mockups of the Sony a900 before it was even called that.

and why does the body look outdated already and the sticker on the wrong side of the camera?

Where's the AF assist light? Maybe an old film camera?

No more PUF?
I don't think this pic is real. If it is, it's a mistake removing the PUF. I really liked that about the D700 since it was a flash commander as well.

Fake, fake fake! And badly done I might add.

But here is a mystery. Go to the link below and scroll down to the gallery on the day in the life of the Sports Illustrated photographer (Gallery: SI Photog). Why do his Nikons have an orange "N"? You can see it in two of the images in the gallery.

By the way the story is interesting as well.

If it is orange, it's probably the mystery Sony FF that has been rumoured!

Maybe he painted it for identification/theft purposes.

I doubt painting the logo orange is harder than blacking out it out with a black sharpie, you just switch colours....

No they are definitely Nikon cameras, probably D3Ss. In picture 5 it looks like he is using the new 70-200 mm as well. Only the "N" is orange, the rest of the letters are still white.

That would make sense. I would think there are times when you might find yourself putting your camera down near others that are similar in a press room.

It is probably too early for him to be testing a prototype D4 for 2011.

looks like a film body with either a sticker or has been photoshopped. Either way - its fake!

That is most definitely a fake as you can clearly tell it is a sticker on an older body which is most likely a film body due to the blurred out but visible film rewind icon in red off to the side of the on/off switch. I also base this thought off of the view of as I hold my F100 in hand currently to compare.

My thoughts exactly.

Whoever did it has a great sense of humour :)

I forget what the methodology behind the numbering system is...

I mean they have the

D1, D2, D3 - that's easy enough.

D100, D200, D300 I get too.

Then a jump to D700? And adding in D3000 and D5000 on the low end?

Don't get me started on Canon's nomenclature.

Joke would be a better way to describe it than fake.

The caption under the picture on the DP Review site (link above) says "Seen on the Foolography stand - doesn't appear to be a Photoshop job".

Gotta love the dry British humour of those DP Review guys!
