I'm not quite sure what is the problem with lens or is there a problem...
I just picked up 35-70mm from a friend to play around and noticed when I mount it on my D90 everything looks brighter same applies to pictures they are still sharp but seem to be overexposed. I never had that happen to me before :?

This lens should meter on a D90, was the camera on manual mode?

It was on manual but as far as I can see its nothing to do with electronics it looks like theres something with glass because it brightens the viewfinder as well

Do you have any exposure comp enabled?

Does your normal lens have any filters?

Is it overexposing on AP/Auto?

I should put it this way: with some lenses metering doesn't work so well

lots of occasions when exposure differs with various lenses, you have to compesate for it (you're lucky as yours will give you extra stop of light if it overexposes)
