Hey,
I have a Canon Rebel XSi to use through work now and need to buy SD memory cards for it tomorrow. I have never bought SD cards before... anyone have recommendations? I work as a photojournalist so I need something relatively fast with a decent capacity.

Oh, I'm also in Toronto this weekend so I (finally) have access to the stores here.

Thanks!

You should be looking for nothing less than a Class 6 or faster SD card.

Lucky for your Best Buy has a wicked sale on the Panasonic SD Class 10 cards.

I like to stick with class 6 or greater, but to my surprise I found class 6 cards that give me errors when trying to do video and some that work like a dream. They all work fine for photos, but there's obviously a speed difference.

must depends on the camera what kind of video it can do, i by accident bought a class 4 card for my GF1 not knowing it had to be class 6 but it seems to work just so far for me.

I have a bunch of Sandisk SD cards, and have been quite happy with them. I also have some Kingston SD cards -- but only use them with my audio recording device, and never had a problem with those -- although they are much cheaper.
