I just borrowed this lens from a friend of mine and I have a question. When I'm trying to use the macro option of a lens and manually focus on the object the camera wouldn't allow me to take a picture whether the camera is set to manual or auto focus. I'm using D90, someone please explain what am I doing wrong? Thanks

maybe it waits for focus confirmation? I am not Nikon user, so can't help much, but I know usually it is the case in certain conditions

Yea, thats what it does but it never confirms focus. Is there any way avoiding waiting for this confirmation in MF?

There should be an option in the menu for "release priority" or something.

But at least for me, that only shutter release in AF modes. I don't know about Nikon for sure.

There's no focus priority on a D90 when in Manual focus mode. Sounds like another issue entirely.

Sorry lol, my camera itself was set to manual focus (I figured since i was manually focusing) but when i kept it in auto-focus and manually focus on the lens it let me take pictures. No beep but the picture is taken. Just weird that it wouldn't let me take pictures in manual focus.
