Taken through the shop window during the valentines the <i>SAD walk. (Singles Awareness Day)</i>
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/metrix_feet/2275902124/" title="Through The Window Last Chance Valentines Shopping by Metrix X, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2293/2275902124_96205b581d_o.jpg" width="585" height="800" alt="Through The Window Last Chance Valentines Shopping "></a>

Taken with my Canonet GIII Rangefinder during what was one of the coldest days so far this year. Noticed the pesky TPMG photographer getting into the shot on the left.

I'm still getting comfortable taking people's pictures. I was in Rome and really wanted a picture of Nuns but also didn't want to make them feel like they were a spectacle or tourist attraction.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ayngelina/2141836352/" title="Nuns in St.Peters by ayngelina, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2053/2141836352_4510d43773.jpg" width="309" height="500" alt="Nuns in St.Peters"></a>

I did feel a bit more at ease with the food markets. There is something about food and photography that just works well.

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/ayngelina/2136590273/" title="Market in Rome by ayngelina, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2006/2136590273_6c1157b9da.jpg" width="500" height="309" alt="Market in Rome"></a>

I consider this my best candid shot back from summer of 2004 (with a P&S from my window):

A few from the downtown walk with Taylor last Saturday. Of course, they look better a bit bigger.

Here's one from the International Design Show (at Direct Energy Centre).
I'm sure the guy saw me (since I'm the only person in close proximity to them) but I guess he didn't care.

Well I attempted some Subway candids on Saturday when heading down and back from the island.

All shots taken with Minolta 24mm f/2.8 prime, stopped down to f/4 or 4.5

Camera was sitting on my knee, and I just guessed (though with a few recomposures too)

Random cute girl on the Subway (another case of TTC Deja Vu).
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/34353273@N00/2305889583/" title="DSC04361 (Large) by chris_hotwire, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2403/2305889583_2fc9eec509.jpg" width="333" height="500" alt="DSC04361 (Large)"></a>

Random guy
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/34353273@N00/2305890105/" title="DSC04384 (Large) by chris_hotwire, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2157/2305890105_ae5befdaf0.jpg" width="333" height="500" alt="DSC04384 (Large)"></a>

Girl absorbed in crossword, sudoku, or something
<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/34353273@N00/2305912221/" title="DSC04450 (Large) by chris_hotwire, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2255/2305912221_7352224754.jpg" width="333" height="500" alt="DSC04450 (Large)"></a>

There was another girl I took a shot of, but I've not uploaded it. She was giving me dirty looks the whole way down from Yorkdale to Union. Maybe the trick is to appear harmless.

At a shop in Roncesvalles Village, where I get my hair cut, one of the owners of the shop reads the paper.

Look closer:

Inigo Montoya: My father was slaughtered by a two-fingered woman. He was a great coffeemaker, my father. When the two-fingered woman appeared and requested a special coffee. My father took the job. He slaved a year before it was done.
[Shows the Man in Black the coffee]
Man in Black: I've never seen its equal.
Inigo Montoya: The two-fingered woman returned and demanded it, but at one tenth his promised price, my father refused. Without a word, the two-fingered woman slashed him through the heart. I loved my father. So naturally, I challenged his murderer to a duel. I failed. The two-fingered woman left me alive, but he gave me these.
[strokes the scars on his cheeks]
Man in Black: How old were you?
Inigo Montoya: I was eleven years old. And when I was strong enough, I dedicated my life to the study of coffee making. So the next time we meet, I will not fail. I will go up to the two-fingered woman and say, "Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

I am not sure if this counts as candid. I told my friends to turn around but they wouldn't. So I popped in the flash and took it anyway. This was only my second day out with the camera, so things are still a bit ... bad.
