Hey everyone. I need some suggestions for a new bag. I plan to buy a 70-200 f2.8vr ii, and i always carry all my lenses with me. I current have a d7000, nikon 12-24, 35 1.8, and the sb-700 flash. I also carry around my raynox macro adapter. I currently use a lowe pro 200 AW, and everything fits fine. However, when i get the 70-200, i'll need something bigger. I love the sling (side access to camera feature), but i know my shoulders will hurt with a single strap sling bag. So i need suggestions on a doubled strapped one.

So the must haves for me are:

-double strap sling (must be double strap, and a sling)
-weather proof, well, rain proof i guess
-obviously, it must fit the 70-200 vr ii, preferably with the body attached

I'm not interested in looks. Functionality of the bag is essential, but if it looks decent, thats a plus. If it doesn't look good, well, thats not a big issue at all.

Btw, my ideal bag would the lowe pro 300 AW, but with a double strap. That bag only has one. So i guess a bag about the same size, similar specs with a double strap.

Thanks, Phu.

Lowepro Fastpack series? Double straps with side access. You'll need the Lowepro Fastpack 350 AW to fit the 70-200.

Thanks to both of you for your suggestions.

I think i'll probably go with the kata bag.

I wasn't too impressed by the Kata 3n1-30. I originally bought the 20 which was too small for all my gear, and I quickly outgrew the 30 as well. The strap system is pretty gimmicky, it doesn't function well as a sling bag at all.

I have the Fastpack 350, and it's pretty bulky when compared to your sling. I find it is a love / hate relationship with it. I wish Lowepro would make their backpacks with the waist lumberstraps removeable. If you can live without the side access, then take a look at their Flipside series.

I always check out the bags in store, before I buy it. I've read some reviews that its difficult to pull out gear from the sling, when compared to lowe pro slings. I don't for sure, but I'll see tomorrow when I go to Henry's.

I agree with the removable waist straps. It does get annoying, and I never use it. I don't think I would even use it, if I had a bigger bag. The sling side access is a must for me. I've never owned a bag without it, and its one of most important features for me in a bag.

Tamrac Evolution 9 Photo/Laptop Sling Backpack might suit you. However, I do prefer Think Tank products also.
