So Ive noticed this before but Now that Im editing a black and white print it seems wierd to me .. I calibrate my monitor with the spyder 3 and when its done I flip back and forth between before calibration and after and it seems the before is black and white and the after calibration has a green tint to it ... Like to me it looks way better in the before calibration ( true black and white) where as the green tint from the calibrated version

Any ideas??

Thanks

Leave it alone, walk away and have your favourite beverage.

By the time you come back, the tinting would probably disappear.

I noticed this sometimes too. What could happen is that the pre-calibrated screen is off, but you're accustomed to it already.

Alternatively, if the difference is obvious, then check to see if the light levels and colour have not changed, and if the calibrator is connected straight into the computer, not through a hub.

That's weird. Have you used your Spyder recently to calibrate another monitor? Maybe the Spyder tool is off it's game?

Did you make sure that your monitor is all warmed up prior to running your calibration routine?

Ahh yes, good catch! I forgot about that part. Had an issue with black / whites (when I first used it) being too dark when printing because I didn't let my monitor warm up prior to calibrating (mine gets brighter after being on for the first 15 minutes).

mine shows a little reddish, but that's only compared to non-calibrated, when printed it's perfect, just getting used to the old look, unless something is wrong...

So you tweak the photo to the way you like it on screen, and it still prints out fine? LOL.

no, only compared to the green cold uncalibrated, all I am saying is just get used to the "tint" if nothing is wrong with hardware or software
