A friend of mine is looking for a new (to her) Nikon after her D50 bit the dust.

She saw a D300 w/ 15.5k actuation, asking price 950. Is that a fair price? Unfortunately, she asked when I was away in Miami, so I forgot to post the question last week. It might be sold by now.

Mr.Walczak, I've notified her about your D300s in the meantime.

Since early September, there has been about 2 or 3 D300/D300s up for sale in Toronto's craiglist per week. Pretty sure they are not the same cameras re-listed over and over. Don't know about the actuation or the condition of these cameras but most are asking around 900-1050. Might be a coincidence but there has been an uptick in D300/D300s for sale since the announcement of the D7000. (Don't ask me why.)

sounds about right.

And yes, the big promises of the D7000 makes it a real competitor for the D300 so it will affect the market starting next week, when the D7000 hit the shelves. Probably a reason why people are selling their D300
