Anybody have any insight into why some women have more style than sense?

I wouldn't call it senselessness. But just who is this ideal for - men or women? Good point you bring up.
I prefer to think of it as style over pragmatism.

Well, I wouldn't call it senselessness either, but not being sensible in the same sense (ahem) as 'pragmatism' that you use.

Yes, I've had a discussion with a woman friend once who insisted that these painful (ok, uncomfortable?) accoutrements are for themselves; it makes them feel attractive, well dressed, confident, much like (this part is my extension) the way some men feel attractive, macho, confident when they're driving a muscle car or carrying a full sized dSLR with a crazy long zoom lens.

Point of note, not all women find shoes like the uncomfortable. Or better yet, not all shoes with that style are made to the same uncomfortable standards.

I can't answer that one as I do believe that you need to walk a mile in another person's shoes before you can judge them. Do these come in size 12 (size 45 in UK)

I am happy some women still have more style than sense, otherwise it would have been terrible to still not be blind

^^^I would prefer a tighter crop but that is a great photo. I love the various states of mind of the competitors - some serious, others clowning around, others there simply to be photographed...hilarious. A great story captured^^^^

FYI, the Memmonites and Amish faiths forbid photographs of themselves based on their beliefs. I think some exemptions are made if their faces aren't photographed but I could be wrong or maybe they are more liberal these days.

Hey Carlton --- Mennonites (not Memmonites) are much more liberal than the Pennsylvania Dutch aka: Amish. The Amish do not like to be photographed. Wheras Menonites (of German decent) generally don't care nearly as much - although some are still a bit camera shy.
