I need to develop and print 4x6 quick and dirty. I don't care about the quality so cheap is great. Any suggestions? Color film, btw. I'm a bit pressed for time and can't spend too much time searching and since the initial search here didn't yield much i thought i'd ask.

Also, i need to print from already developed 120 rolls. What's the best place?

Thank you!

I second Downtown Camera. They are "decent" and resonably priced. I often use them when i'm not in the mood to dust off my Jobo or are in a hurry, allthough i can't speak to their prints, i just develope and i do the scanning and printing at home.

Aden Camera is a bit cheaper on developing and jsut got a new lab put in so they can fire off decent prints and a solid rate.

After my discount at DT they were slightly cheaper then Aden. DT also updated their equipment I think it is to handle the lomography store. It's good to see that they both have updated their equipment I might give Aden another try.

Toronto Image Work is still one of the best places for 120: colour, B&W, Xprocessing, pushing and pulling all at the same price.

Ive tried Toronto Image Works for some 4x5's that my Jobo couldn't handle(need different drums) and was impressed. It's just such a pain to get to for me. Has anyone tried their mail in service?

Was going to start a thread along the same topic.. glad I found this :D I have a question about scanning though. New to medium format scene, looking at scanning on Toronto Imageworks website... saw 4 base and 16 base scanning. Can anyone tell me in simple terms what the difference is? I'm guessing it has to do with resolution/quality...

From what I've been able to tell, 4 Base is basically only good enough for Web while 16 Base is for print (equivalent to something like a 6 megapixel camera). 64 Base is for professional printing/archival at 25 megapixels.

4 Base and 16 Base sound awfully low to me and even something that can be accomplished with an Epson V600 scanner. I realize professional scanners have better dust removal and truer resolution, but do people really pay to get a picture at 1024 × 1536? May have been okay 10 years ago, but it's pretty low today. Can somebody shed more light on this?

Any uptown locations (or even Markham/Richmond Hill?)
I know DNP Photo of Pacific Mall is among the cheapest: they will process C41 in both 35mm and 120 formats for $2 and $4 respectively. $8 for 24exp to print 35mm. $14 for 12exp 120.

Phoenix Professional Labs (Markham Rd./Sheppard) processes C41 35mm for $4.50 (24exp) and 120 for $3.50. Prints are not bad in price, $0.50 per shot 4x6 on 35mm, 6x6 120 for $2/shot. They list B&W printing for more, but I don't think they process true B&W.

Northern Aritsts (Yonge/St. Clair) even does B&W. 35mm/roll: $5.75 process only ($6.45 for B&W) and $6.45 for 120 (C41 or B&W). $12.99 for 24exp 35mm.

Looking for a place which will also scan to a reasonable size as well, better than can be done at home on a flatbed.

WOW...realized I've been travelling twice as far to pay almost twice as much! Thanks for this...

I typically drop by Elpro or Aden for C-41 processing, Northern Artist for E-6. Do note that Aden Camera only has glossy paper for their printing service if printing in matte is the thing for you.
