Insane or stupid? Guess he figured he wouldn't be able to get out of the way in time so might as well keep on shooting. The other photographer can be seen running away for his life in the first pic.

Not a photo but just as crazy.

... and that is why you always want something immovable between you and whatever is coming at you!

Check this out... Travis Pastrana's crashes and rolling in mid air towards a photographer.

It wasn't until everything settled down that the photog noticed a muffler a few feet away from him.

LOL, I can't believe his navigator was THAT calm even after the crash. I think I'd have to wear diapers to shoot rally events... or grow giant steel cojones!

I'd have to say rally drivers (and their codriver, even if they're a female!) have the biggest cojones with respect to all forms of motorsports.

Agreed. Many Photogs have been injured or worse over the years. Back in the 80s, the was a Group B Rally series with 600+hp cars flying down wet, muddy roads into sharp corners. With NO concerete barrier.

As focus and composed the that photog was, that barrier between him and the car makes all the difference. And to be fair, that car wasn't close to 200mph at impact. THAT would have changed everything.
