yesh, a company who doesn't want their product reviewed with such a huge following? Makes them look like divas now.

Weird, how's that allowed? One can't write about some product?

Doesn't the DMCA only apply in America? DigitalRev is based out of Hong Kong...

They are based in HK but have a US office. Take down was sent due to the images used not the review. So says the Gopro PR. I think a simple email request would have resolved the issue without resorting to DMCA take down and the headache that comes along with it.

The letter that was posted next to the review on DigitalRev was not sent in response to the review. Obviously, we welcome editorial reviews of our products. This letter was sent because DigitalRev is not an authorized reseller of GoPro products and they were using images and had incorrect branding and representation of our product in their online commerce store. As part of our program – we ask merchants who are selling our product to use authorized images. That is why DigitalRev was contacted. But – our letter did not clearly communicate this and that is something we will correct.

So once again DigitalRev is involved in some sort of grey market chicanery? Given all the stories out there regarding people getting something slightly different than they ordered I would not buy from them. No matter how many juvenile peepee jokes Kai makes.

GoPro's explanation makes less sense than their original notice. If it had to do with the images Digital Rev was using to display their products, why didn't they contact digital Rev directly instead of going straight to their webhosting company? As said above a simple email to digital rev's webmaster, site admin, creative department, customer service etc. would have been not only more effective but direct and simple.

They are seriously abusing the spirit of the meaning of the DMCA.
