Most of the time we are seeking help or complaining about our equipment, so I thought I'd put up "yay" instead. I stretched out the use of my 7D's battery right to it's approximated 6% of life left. Using it without it's flash (mainly studio lights) and with non-IS lenses with AF on, I was able to get 1460 shots. This is with auto preview to 2s, about 6 CF formats, over 6 photo shoots and one wedding. I couldn't believe it myself, I'm pretty amazed since the camera has only ever been in sleep mode while not in use on shoots.

That's great... another shout out .... The batteries in my Nikon D7000 seem to carry on for ages. I never realized just how good they were. I bought a second battery, and I almost never have to charge it. I do switch batteries from time to time in the body/grip just so that they are both getting regular use.

Seconded on the d7000 battery. Never seems to run out. I am sure it can fire off more than 3000 shots. Ive never been less than half, even after multiple shoots in a row.

Thank god, since they charge so much money for a second one for my grip!

I finished an entire wedding (photos) on one battery. 3800 shots fired.

For video I have to use 4 packs a day, and part way recharge 2....for a full 18 hour wedding.

Wow 3800 for one wedding that is crazy. You most love editing. I've used eneloops in the battery grip for a full wedding shooting video on the 5d and it lasted quite awhile. But it doesn't keep track of the power level and actuations.

3800 for a single event is crazy.... I don't think you could force me to shoot that much in an 8 hour period of time.

me thinks he was trying the cool stop-motion technique for weddings that was posted here a couple weeks ago? If not, 3800 is insane! :D

OMG, 3,800 for a single event on just one camera body!?! I'm cringing at the thought of post work just for rating and tweaking for proofs, and for hard drive space. I'm not even close to that for 9 shoots including a wedding.

3800 photos in 16 hours works out to a picture every 15 seconds.

does that mean the battery level indicator is inaccurate?

I wouldn't say it is innaccurate, but over time and use batteries drain faster. Better to be safe than sorry. Since I always charge my batteries as soon as they pull them out of the camera, carry one extra on me per camera, and use 3 cameras for big events, I don't worry about charging halfway through.
