Please don't gloat, many of us are already suffering.
I keep believing that this is just a "phase" in Nikon production and marketing life cycles that we have to live through.

New pro cameras are coming, new pro cameras are coming...

I like it, its an entry level DSLR and all those little emo kids in high school these days love to carry DSLR's around their necks. Why not make it in different colours. One of my co-workers was asked by her daughter to get her a DSLR "with the red swoosh" on it for Christmas last year. That should give you an indication of what type of people would buy this camera lol.

LOL, although i thought they were all using iphones and claiming how wonderful it is to take 'deeply emotional' photographs with those lomo apps installed.

It definately caters to the amateur photography market, and for those thinking about getting into DSLR's -- so not all bad.

my problem is that is isn't even the same red as the nikon grip mark. At least use the standard red!

I think the only point was to make it flashier then Canon's red.
It sure is reflects more light.

I saw the D3100 (red) in person today. it took a lot to not throw up. call me a purist but why someone would buy this is completely beyond me. you already have point and shoots in the entire color range of the rainbow and most people who will buy this aren't likely to take it off auto mode anyway. its really baffling why someone would want to shell the extra cash other than to indulge in some "i'm a professional, look at me!" posery.
