Hi,

I know the 10D is really ancient but has anyone encountered errors with the 10D and the Lexar 4Gb Plat II's? I get an err 02. I know that it's CF card related. The thing is that this is the 2nd Lexar 4Gb Plat II that I used. I returned the other one thinking it's an issue with that card yet I'm getting it with this.

I currently use another 4Gb CF but it's a Kingston. I know the Sandisks and the Lexars are good quality. I haven't tried a Sandisk yet 'coz I haven't realized the cost benefit of it with what I do now.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,
Jeoff

Did you buy it from a reputable store, or from eBay?

On eBay there's a lot of counterfeit cards that have failed tests, or are slower than the original brand.

There's a few ERR02 threads on POTN related to the 10D. A few of them mention Lexar cards, might be worth a good read.

Thanks...I did a quick scan of about 5 or so threads. It looks like the Lexar CF's have issues with some of the older xxD cameras. :(

I'll have to use the Kingston CF until I get a Sandisk. They don't seem to have any issues.

Did you read this thread where the guy called Canon tech and they suggested turning off auto image review, because it was trying to read before the data was finished writing?

http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=121473

Anyways, in any case you're lucky Walmart has a good return policy!

Yeah. I saw this one. I have to agree with what the other guy reply saying that it's a sloppy excuse of a workaround but sure. I will return it at Walmart.

A friend and I both had intermittent issues with Kingston cards on our Canon bodies.
