hi guys... I was checking the Canon 5D mk 1 of a friend and we noticed that when you look at the viewfinder the image is a bit blurry but the AF locks and the picture when viewed on the LCD display is clear (also when we checked the picture on the laptop monitor is also clear)...

i've tried cleaning the mirror and the "focusing screen" on top of it but it is still blurry... anything else I should check?

thanks

Your 5D is broke. I will give you two dollars for it :)

Look to the right of the viewfinder for a small wheel that is the diopter adjustment. Turn it to focus the screen as seen through the viewfinder. Each person might have a different setting dependent on their vision.

Tim

P.s. The two dollar offer still stands :)

I think it might be LCD technology from what, 2005? 2006?

@PE

timras got it right... it was just a matter of adjusting the di-opter near the viewfinder.. my friend must have accidentally moved it....
