Can anyone recommend a good hand strap for a 5DMkII without the grip? I use a Blackrapid RS-4, but there are times when I don't feel like using the R-strap. If anyone has any experience with a quality hand strap that they like using, that'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Maybe not what you're looking for...but I have the 5DMkII with the "Q-strap" (R-strap knockoff) plate from ebay. It has an attachment point for my Canon E1 hand strap.

My favourite is the Hakuba "Grip PH" with Wrist Support...with that my palm, back of my hand, and wrist takes most of the weight of the camera, and my fingers don't have to support all the weight. An image of the strap in use:

I recently bought the Hakuba LH handstrap - yes for the right hand :)
and I like it for the 5D2

I also bought a JJC HS-2 from ebay.

I like the Hakuba LH as I can slip my hand in and out, it's comfy and covers the knuckle area so if you rest at a certain position, you can sorta let your fingers go.

For the JJC HS-2 It covers the knuckles all the way to your wrist so you can let go of the camera and it will hold snug. Only problem is it's a hassle to buckle/unbuckle the wrist part.

I guess for me I like to be able to get in and out of the hand grip so I like the Hakuba LH (which I got from B&H). I replaced the tripod attachment and looped the strap to my RRS L bracket (non gripped) and can still use the Rapid strap attachment. The stock tripod connector does have a female thread for the RS fastenR but hmm I'm a bit hesistant to thread it there.

This wrist strap is the only thing I find comfortable:

However, it's more designed to prevent you from dropping the camera on the floor than offering any support.

A couple of friends swear by the hand-straps this company makes: http://www.camdapter.com/handstrap/prostrap.html
