I'm looking into getting that one from B&H. Wanted to know if anyone here had any experience, good or bad with it? Thanks. :)

I use the Spyder2 and it works as advertised although i heard that there are better ones out there (EyeOne, etc.) in terms of options. Like most of them, they are pretty easy to set up and use.

I use one too, although ever since switching to Snow Leopard the calibration utility doesn't prompt me to calibrate my monitor on a monthly basis like it used to.

There are better calibrators out there, but they are generally more expensive.

I've used both the 2Pro and 3Elite (just got the 3Elite at the Henry's show), but I use them with projectors (which is why I have the higher-end models).

You can change the nag setting within the software.

I've used the original Spyder and now have a Spyder3 model. I don't leave it plugged in all the time, so I don't constantly measure for ambient light ... but I do on the monthly calibration cycle. Best advice is to ensure that your monitor has been on for awhile before calibrating and working directly on photos. I've noticed quite the shift when being impatient, mainly for warm tones and when trying to create neutral black & whites.

Overall, totally recommend it. If you plan on printing a lot from home, I'd consider stepping up to the SR version which inlcudes the printer profile ... but it does double the price.

I have the Spyder3 version and like most here have said, it does the job and I do like mine.

I have had mine for quite some time and absolutely love it. I too calibrate once a month after having the monitor on for about an hour.

Thanks for all your input and advice. I'm working on my prints at home, and printing at a Blacks (most likely). I think I may go with a Spyder 3Pro.

If your not printing on a regularly calibrated printer your results may vary.
