Hey Guys,

Did you experience sudden death with these triggers?
It looks like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/Wireless-Studio-Flash-Trigger-16-Channel-Radio-Remote-/250693829558?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a5e8443b6

It worked fine two months ago, was not dropped or abused in any way.
The LED on the transmitter still blinks when I press the button.
Not so much the one on the receiver.
I did change the batteries on the receiver.
Do you think it's possible that the battery on the transmitter is too weak to trigger it, but strong enough to get the LED to light up?
Does this make sense?
Any ideas, other than "buy some good ones"? :D
Thank you.

Simple answer is to buy a new battery for the transmitter and try it out. If it still doesn't work there probably something wrong with circuitry in which case I would toss them and by the rf602s.

Did you ensure channel is the same on both?

(obvious but though I'd mention it since it was not mentioned in original post)

Only when using flashes with high-voltage triggers.

Thanks guys.
Would an old Vivitar qualify as a high voltage flash?
However, the last one that I used was the AB800.

You'd have to mention the model...most flashes vary in their trigger voltage depending on when they were made. Or you could look here yourself:
http://www.botzilla.com/photo/strobeVolts.html

Typically I've found that if the "ready" light is neon based (could be neon behind a green lens) then the trigger voltage is high...if the "ready" light is LED based then it is safe; of course that's no guarantee, but I haven't found a flash yet that doesn't follow that trend.

Thank you guys.
The flash is a Vivitar 285 HV.
I guess I will have to measure it myself (as the reports on the list range from 6 V to 12 V), however, I will not connect it to the new triggers again.
Hurray for optical triggers.

Potato, his are just simple triggers, right? No TTL or anything like that, correct?

I don't think so.
But they work nicely, I just got them and took a few test shots.
Thank you Dimitry for the tip!
