I have an Elan II... is this like the 5dII thing you posted about? Can we get more info on how these cameras will be used?

I'm hoping most of the operators will have tripods and cf cards. I have a Canon RC1 remote that will trigger any of the canon cameras listed below:

Canon Digital Rebel T1i 500D, Digital Rebel XSi 450D, Digital Rebel XTi 400D, Digital Rebel XT 350D, Canon EOS Digital Rebel 300D, Canon EOS 5D Mark II, Elan 7/7E, Elan II/IIE, Elan, IX, 10S

Once the Cameras and operators arrive they will be put up to a lens chart to figure out how far the camera has to be altered from the 5d MKII distance to the subject. After this is done cameras will be setup around the subject matter, and a skateboarder will do 3 tricks, then the break dancer do 3 tricks.
The whole time with a green screen around and downloading the cards to one system and using after effects to make a time line stitch of the footage. Similar to this, http://vimeo.com/8913973

This would take around 3 hrs on the 20th of March. Volunteers will be provided with food and drinks.

So this is a mix of film and digital shooters? Very cool effect. Almost like the "Bullet Time" effect from The Matrix.

Mind you, the rebels use SD cards, not CF
On another note, I am available and interested with XSI and 50mm lens

Solid state storage, its very much the matrix affect. It's what I do to it in post that adds the wow factor ontop of this wow factor.

By intergrating this video clip with Flash and Webcam tracking, the installation will move the bullet time view around based on where the viewer is standing infront of the vertical hd tv.

This is a large scale project. The more the community gets involved and more cameras the better the affect. Plus you will be able to look at it in 3d on your home computer with a webcam, or at the Contact Featured Exhibit and see it 3d.

If your interested in the March 20th shoot around Noon please PM me.

Unfortunetely I was not able to get volunteers, nor did Canon sponsor me. But against all odds. I pulled off the shoot, this is just a production setup video. More stuff to follow. Feel free to come to the exhibit at BaitShop in Toronto during the month of May.

Enough people in this group have RF-602's that can also Trigger cameras wirelessly. If you were to hook up 10 such cameras all on the same channel you could pull that off much more easily no? I alone have 3 cables that could trigger 3 cameras. The cables are cheap and you could trigger countless cameras in the same instant.

RC1 Triggering is horrible. I remember when I had mine. Wouldn't trust that to reliably set off a number of cameras like you were planning!

How do you enable your webcam for the face tracking?

If your on a mac, right click flash player bringing up the options dialog box. Once open click on the webcam icon and change if from the current setting to USB video. That should work, the tally light on your webcam light needs to go on. Also make sure you are viewing in decent frontal lighting. Needs to find that blob "face".
