A new spec for Compact Flash is coming up...Higlight is from 32 bit to 48 bit access. What does this mean soon you will be able to pick up a 144 Peta byte card. One petabyte is 1000 Terbytes or 1 000 000 GB.

Think you could store some home movies on that

up from the current limitation of 137GB Have you ever seen a card of this size sold? I haven't, and it's available by technology now. I mean, while it's all great that it will be possible, none of these will be available for purchase.

This is good news for when Nikon bring out their D4 which will be a 100MP camera!

With my IT hat on, being only 1 step away (64GB to 128GB is one step) from the current CF limit is very real and concerning matter. It wasn't long ago when 1 - 2 GB CF card is the sweet spot and "who would want a 16GB card" was the general consensus only 5 or 6 years ago.

Just my 2 cents.

Capacity points beyond current limitation of 137GB (up to 144PB) & more efficient data transfer (32MB per transfer versus 128K per transfer)

64GB CF's are available now, and 128GB won't be far behind. 64GB isn't much if you're shooting 4K raw video on a Red.

I'm much more interested in the 32mb vs 128k transfers. This should make speeds much faster even for low end cards.

You could see netbooks with just a CF slot instead of a HD.
