Impressive specs for a Rebel.. what do you guys think, is this the end of the xxD line (e.g. 50D)?

I don't really see any point to a 60D, except for the wheel controller, 9-point cross-type AF and 6.3fps. I just noticed the Auto ISO goes up to 6400, even higher than the 5D2 / 7D.. wow!

I like the specs. Hopefully they won't have any quality issues and the price point is attractive.

It actually makes sense best of class in upper entry level will sell them a boat load and force the: I got have better equipment; semi-pros; wedding photographers ... to upgrade to a 7d or higher.

Yeah, there's still room for a 60D, and it still makes sense to have one as you said. However, that Rebel / xxD gap is quite small now. Heck, even the Rebel / 7D gap is not very significant. It'll be challenging to price all these crop cameras, since their specs are now somewhat similar.. all 18MP namely.

Pure specs wise, there isn't much difference. It's the same comparison between 7D + 1D4, where there isn't a "huge" gap on paper.

Try playing with a 1D4 in person and tell me there's little/no difference!

I've used a T1i as a 2nd body once for one of the weddings, while I liked it a lot because of the quality it gave in such a small package, small is also something that bugged me. Small body, small buttons, small ergonomics and small view finder. However, at this price, I might be tempted to give it a try again.
