I currently have a canon 10D and want to upgrade.

Was thinking of a 1DII, 1DS or a 1DSII. I mainly want to upgrade for higher Resolution and lower noise at high film speeds.

What should I get???

thanks all :)

5DM2? Depends on what you shoot. All cameras available will provide you with higher resolution and noise quality.

Ok lets be realistic here..... upgrading from a 10D to anything is going to be a huge improvement in imaging capabilities. Have you considered possibly a 50D?

Right now, my personal preference is 5Dmk2 followed by the 7D. But if the rumours hold true that the 1Dmk4 is coming out at the end of the month, it's going to throw everything out of wack, especially if it's priced at ~ $4k.

20D is the logical upgrade. Numerically speaking, 1D, 5D, 7D are all downgrades.

Wouldn't the 1000D be the most advanced camera in the Canon lineup.

It's a bargain at 400 CAD. All the other Canon cameras are overpriced.

But isn't this fundamentally the masculine mental block originating from the original dick-length contests: more is better?

Well, you don't have an existing EF-S lens investment, so I wouldn't start if I was you. Everyone that shoots EF-S will eventually or has already went Full Frame, so I'd advise a 1Ds or a 1D if you need the speed. If you are not shooting sports, the 5DII or the original 5D will do nicely. In fact, the 5D can now be found for ~1500 on the used market, a bargain really when you consider the amazing images that camera produces.

I will look into a 5D. The only problem with a 5D is, I need to buy a battery grip and extra batteries.

The 1 series bodies have the battery grip built into the bodies.

My lense's consist of 70-200 2.8L, 17-35 2.8L, 50 1.4

:D

$1700 for 5D, grip and extra batteries, and you can probably do a bit better by shopping around. :D
