I'm thinking of sending my 18-200mm lens to the service depot for service (it's still under warranty). I've never really been happy with the focusing of the lens and after recently buying a 50mm lens, I decided to do a focus test to compare the lenses. The focusing of the 50mm is right on, while it appears the 18-200mm is backfocusing by about 10mm. Anyway, getting back to the subject, I'd like to find out from some of the other Nikon members who've used Nikon service the following:
- any bad experiences and how you think they could have been avoided
- what was the typical turnaround time (if one could even say anything is typical when it comes to service)
- any other tips (or prayers)

Any help would be appreciated.
