Hi all,

I'm looking to buy 2 frames 20 x 20, no mat, black, solid wood and can't seem to find that size without going custom (much bigger bucks)

Anyone have any leads?

We did portrait studies of each of my kids at 3 months old, but 2 years apart and Sears (I know, I know, I wasn't into photography when I had my first and the wife wanted the same look for the second) went and changed suppliers to some CHEAP ass black presswood company versus the nice solid wood with glass they had before.

Help??

Deep

You may want to try Victor Gallery down on Queen St W of Bathurst.

May not be the cheapest but the glass/frame is good.

Cheers,
Dave

I may be wrong but I was in a Micheals craft store the other day and they sold frame sections in pairs pre-cut. So I guess you could buy a 2 pairs of 20's and voila. Some wood Some Metal. They also have a framing service in store. No idea about pricing however. Worth a phone call.

food for thought...
a lot of people are lead to believe "custom framing" = expensive...
as if there's a law.
It's not so... particularly if you work with a seasoned framer who is looking out for both your interest and the work to be framed, as opposed to their sales figures and quotas/commissions. A custom frame can be less expensive.

Pat yourself on the back if what you choose happens to be more expensive than what someone sitting behind a desk in "Timbuctoo" picking through an inventory clearance, bulk-buy catalogue for a retail chain has determined to be today's "seller" of a ready-made frame. You have better taste, and it probably suits your work better.

The guys at the Framing Depot are excellent, and I've found them to be incredibly competitively priced (they do all of my framing now)

Give these guys a try... Oakville location is closest to Milton(assuming)... tho admittedly each location has a different set of skills as any custom place would. If distance isn't an issue, the Danforth location(previously known as Loomis & Toles
