Hi,

i'm going to be ordering 2 lights in the near future and would like to split an order with someone else who plans on getting 2 lights, or two people getting 1 light each

basically if you buy 4 lights you save 20% off of all accessories which applies to everything that isn't a light

sorry but i don't want this to be a huge 20 person order because it would be too much of a hassle to organize/sort out shipping, taxes, brokerage fees

thanks

oh wow...you don't need me if you plan on getting the 'busybee' since it has 4 lights in the package, you would get the full 20% discount on accessories anyways

i would like to find other people who are ordering lights first...i may open it up to like 5 people or maybe rhommel will let some people in on his order

as for shipping time, i heard that it comes in 3-5 business days depending on if it gets stuck at the border or not

Tempted by the strong dollar - I started "browsing" a few weeks back on the alienbees website.

What I noticed was that if I bought (tried to do a checkout) with two "packages" they just doubled up on the shipping price so it didn't matter if I did a group order with a friend or not. Also (just a wild guess) the other downside would likely be that it would more likely get taxed even if marked as gift since it's a higher dollar amount? kinda like at the border if you say you only spent 100$ they push you through.. if you said u spent 1000$ you'd get pulled to side and taxed.

The 10-20% applies to accessories which unless you're buying a lot doesn't really help out to much. For me I was just going to grab a 2 light kit (digi bee?) so the savings wasn't worth it.

All that said since Ray is already in for a pair of lights anyone who is considering ordering should get in on it - a 20% discount on accessories is still better then 0%.

Ray - some online/stores will offer discounts to anyone who asks "nicely". I did that for autogeeks - and got them to honour a 20% of coupon just because.. Perhaps they will do that for you even if you only order 2 lights?

naw...the conditions for getting 20% off is ordering 4 lights...i'm not a long time customer so they don't feel the need to give me any bonuses

like...i can walk into henry's and get small stuff for free because i've bought so much from them

rhommel- shipping is the same even if we ordered separately, no duties and brokerage fees are based on the value of the products

if you have a relative in the US i wouldnt mind pitching in for gas and picking the stuff up hahaha

you should call them - a real live person will answer the phone and be quite helpful with all those shipping questions. these days (and sadly) it's a remarkable experience. from my experience, go with the premium shipping option to avoid being stung at the door. 2 day max delivery time too.

I wouldn't mind picking up a couple of softboxes or an octobox.

so far my discount is still 10% (for 2 lights)...still looking for other people buying lights to get the 20% lol

unless rhommel would like to help people out with the 20% discount since he's buying 4 lights by himself

If we all get together and order and call it in we may be able to a deal.

Has anyone asked about getting a discount for ordering a crapload of accessories? I am interested in getting the new parabolic umbrella, heavy duty light stand and possibly the transmitter and receivers.
