this would only be good if you can slap videos on there and maybe hook it up to a better sound system. aside from that, the promotional ad they have for it is ridiculous.

Well, if the 6400 ISO quality is anything like the P6000 -- then its not much to gawk at. But the LED projector is a nifty idea, which has been available for a few years now. Its kinda funky to see it integrated into a camera though.

You're not going to get the same projection performance from this as you would from a standard projector. The maximum image size is 40", that's just over a metre.

It doesn't say how many lumens yet, but the Optima Pico projector (which is a dedicated handheld LED projector with a max image size of 60") is 20 lumens...compare that with a normal projector which is 2000-4000 lumens.

:p i still won't have any merit for it even if it came close to being like a standard projector, it would only make it a smidgen more appealing  .. i just don't understand the importance of being able to blast your pictures onto something to show it off.

It's for the gadget freaks, I certainly would have bought it back when I was into collecting gadgets like iPhones, Palms, etc.

Today though they have to be more productive ones, for instance my wristwatch has a built-in flashlight since I work in a theatre.

But then look at the Olympus E-P1, and how the gadget freaks have picked up on it.

Any idea how long the battery would last?

No real world tests yet (from what I could find), but the Optima Pico I mentioned above lasts upto 2 hours...I presume it has brightness adjustments like a normal projector, and when you use the lower intensity you'll get the 2 hours.
