Toronto Photography Meetup Group

So, there was original another group buy that was happening a month or two ago but that turned out to be a flop. =(

I was planning to make an order from both Mpex and Flashzebra for my friends and I but figured that I would extend this offer to you TPMG'ers too so that we can all save from shipping, taxes and etc. I don't plan to make this such a huge order (hopefully =P) because it'll end up taking much longer but I'll have to see.

Ideally this is more of a local group buy (Markham/Scarborough) as I live/work there for most of the week. I don't drive, so unless your willing to meet up with me locally I ain't going to bus to mississauga or etc. Payment wise, I hope that it will be dealt with locally too.

As for the items, probably to get the the similar items that were posted before on previous group buy. Ideally I don't want to grab anything that is too large or too expensive just because it'll be to differentiate who owes more or whatever. I am going to leave out the alienbees site because the items from the past group buy were more pricier. So I'll start by listing out some of the items that were apart of the group buy before.

yea! I was planning on ordering the cybersyncs but I am going with the cheaper items first. Maybe I'll do a second group order if this one goes well. As for payment, locally would be best for me because paypal has the fees and whatnot (but I'll leave that as my last option).

I am interested in just a tri-fold shot through white umbrella 43".

did you get a discount or was it strictly to save on shipping? also how do those prices compare locally?

As for the comparison locally,

-Henry's cheapest option for the swivel bracket was $34.99 whereas Flashzebra was $14.99us (Hopefully around the low $20's after everything).

-Umbrella wise, they were about $20-27us (so about $25-32 I guess) and locally I saw them in the price range of the $40-60.

-Lightstands wise, Henry's cheapest option for the lightstands for about $40-$60 but it had a decent review from strobist.com.

It's gonna be my first group buy, so I won't know how good a deal it is until it arrives here. (Wish us good luck)



If this goes well, then I *may* try to organize some future group buys in the future.

I believe the shipment (Mpex) has arrived but I'm not at home at the moment. I will contact everyone as soon as I get home and calculate the cost of everything.
