I've had no difficulties with Lexar 300x Cards on my a900. Similar throughput to the 5DII.

I've never had a problem with mine, and I own three of them...Lexar cards that is.

No problem Mhel, while you're at it, get yourself a UDMA enabled or firewire card reader, if you don't have one already. It makes a world of difference when transferring your photos off of the card.

Actually, with a UDMA enabled camera like your 5DII or my A900, you will also see a difference in writing to a UDMA enabled card like a Lexar 300x or a Sandisk Extreme IV or Ducati card. I only wish the 16GB or larger Lexar 300x cards were available up here...I can only fit ~200 RAW photos on one 8GB card!

Always check out robgalbraith.com... performance of various memory cards on the 5DMrkII:

Lexar/Sandisk, etc. they're all good in terms in reliability.

Occassionally Futureshop or Bestbuy will have an 8GB Lexar Pro card close to the $100 mark.

Just to give you an idea (even though you may not do this on the job):

Kingston 133x Elite Pro 4GB (Manufacture rated 25MB/s read, 20MB/s write): When taking 1080p video and you snap a picture the buffer becomes full and video recording stops. Some times the card is able to keep up and prevents the buffer from becoming full but majority of the time it can't.

Sandisk Ultra II 4GB (15MB/s): When taking 1080p video and you snap a picture buffer warning shows but continues recording. If you take consecutive snaps then buffer becomes full and video stops recording.

Sandisk Extreme II 2GB (20MB/s version): No problem, buffer warning doesn't even show on consecutive snaps.

Sandisk Extreme III 16GB (30MB/s version): No problem, buffer warning doesn't even show on consecutive snaps.

I've got 3 16GB Extreme III and they work great on my 5D MKII and no problems with video as well.
