I hope that someone here can help me with a problem I'm having.

I purchased a Hasselblad 500C/M with a A12 Back (numbers not matching) a number of months ago on ebay. I tested it out with black and white film yesterday, and the film seemed well-spaced. I shot two colour rolls this afternoon, and both rolls have 9 overlapping frames with a lot of unused film at one end.

I'm figuring it was the way I loaded the film. Unlike other Medium format cameras I've used, this one doesn't automatically stop once the first frame comes up. I'm wondering how many times I should be winding it before setting the first frame?
Note: The back itself is from the 1970's; the insert is from the 1950s.
Thanks.

From what I remember about blads (it's been a while since I've owned one mind you), is that the frame counter should stop on the first frame.

If it's not stopping at the first frame, something's amiss.

It should stop on the first frame- you usually turn winder on the back about 10 rotations - then it will stop automatically at the first frame.

It could be a defective insert or it could be the way you loaded the film.

Thanks, guys. I'll give it another try today.
