For those who are interested in getting batteries, Shoppers Drug Mart has them on sale every so often (once or twice a month). $7.99 for a pack of 4 Duraloops.

Duraloops = eneloop rebranded as duracell batteries, you can tell by the white top instead of the normal black/brown/green/silver top.

Thank you!
I will keep an eye out for the next sale!

If anyone sees the Duraloops on sale at Shoppers, please post 'em here.

Here is an image of what they look like - the Duraloops are made in Japan while the non-Eneloop versions are made in China.

Sorry, I'm not sure I get it.

The top of the battery right up close to the portruding contact is white, further out it's copper. On normal Duracell batteries the entire top is copper/black, without any white whatsoever. At least that's how I saw it.

Here's what it looks like on the top:

Notice how the Duracell pre-charged on the top right is white topped, it's a rebrand of the bottom middle (which is the eneloop)

Too funny - I posted a link to the same photo. That Dude NLee is pretty serious about his batteries!

i also use the Powerex MH-C9000 for my Eneloops but i can only charge 4 at a time and i wanted to get a fast charger that can somehow condition the battery, so i purchased this yesterday. it's a quick 1hr. charger but i'm testing how it cycles the battery under "condition" mode.

How is this charger meeting your needs? Are you up to writing a product review? Any likes/dislikes?

I'm switching to eneloops and would like to know if there is a big advantage of using a Powerex charger for brand new eneloops or will the Sanyo charger be sufficient? I understand the Powerex is great form older, tired, batteries.

Thoughts?

The supplied Sanyo charger only charges batteries in pairs (as opposed to the Maha single cell mode) and you cannot control the charge rate. Batteries are supposed to be charged at .5C and discharged at .2C. You can select a charge/discharge rate with the Maha but not the Sanyo.
On occasion I will throw a set of batteries in one of my Sanyo chargers but for the most part it is always the Maha. It will report if a cell is on the decline and let you know that it needs to be run through a break-in cycle.

Shoppers have Duraloops on sale this weekend (Sunday and Monday) only for 7.99 for a 4 pack. Duraloops are Duracell rechargeables and provided they have a white top they are in fact Eneloops.
