Still thinking? Check this out!

ISO 800 on a Rebel camera, absolutely no noise reduction used!!! A month ago I would think 5 times before switching to high ISO
Love their new engine

As great as it is, it is not that good if you have a lens that isn't in their profiles or some other body than 5D mkII or 1D(s) mk3. They simply lack profiles. They should really update to DxO's database of gear!!!

Good point. Currently there's quite a database built into LR3. Lots of Sigma lenses (the largest of the built in DB) followed by Canon. I'm surprised at the limited amount of Nikon and Sony lenses and not to mention, just one lens listed for Tamron.

I guess the good thing is that Adobe has a free tool that lets you create your own lens profile or eventually download/share it from another source. I can't complain since all my lenses are accounted for in LR3 but I can see Sony, Nikon and Tamron users getting a bit upset if they feel cheated.

LR3 is considerably slower than 2 when run in a VM, at least it is on my machine. It's also refusing to save to network locations. I'm not sure if that is due to using a trial version or not, but I don't think so. Otherwise the results are nicer than those to be had in LR2.

It is a lot slower than LR2.7 I was using before, although when LR2 just came out it was still buggy in resource management until addressed in updates. I am guessing the same applies to LR3

Upgraded to 3.0. Strangely, it does not recognize my Panasonic RAW files like Lightroom 2 could.

Not quite sure about the question.

If the question is:

"hold on. For the new Lightroom , do I have to have PS5?"

then
No, I have LR3 beta linking to PhotoshopCS2. It's not link automatically when you install the program, but it can be done.

Can someone tell me if the noise reduction is available with the brush tool?

I don't have Photoshop installed at all and LR 3 works, except for issues above which I highly doubt have anything to do with Photoshop not being installed.

Sorry Ryan, out of luck again. I wish it did, and also wish they had included a perspective correction tool instead of useless distortion

Pssst, LR3 does perspective correction. If you click "Manual" under Lens Correction, you will be presented with both vertical and horizontal transform options.

Here's a good list of improvements/changes in LR3 for the Lightroom Queen Blog http://www.lightroomqueen.com/blog/2010 ... l-release/

I have to upgrade to Sneaky Cheetah or something like that before I can upgrade to LR 3 and/or PS CS5 :D
