Since I'm doing it for the first time, this group buy will be used as a benchmark. I need to know if a monthly GB can benefit both the TPMGers and me as a reseller.

ok, then I expect to pay exactly what the price of the products said on the website, converted to CAD using my bank rate, paying cash for mine, would appreciate a convenient location for pick-up also :D If you got problems with that, I'd rather back out and buy straight from them! You can always pm me :wink:

lol easy tiger. Like I have mentioned in the previous post. After I've obtained the price from the wholesale manager I'll keep each one of you in the loop on how much exactly you need to pay. At that point if you don't feel comfortable with the price then you are free to leave the GB.

And yes master, we'll decide a convenient location to meet up and trade the goods once all of the items arrive. I prefer doing it all at once instead of driving around like a UPS ninja. :lol:

Another note that I'd like to share with you. Since I'm an official reseller for maxsaver, I'm obligated to charge you taxes (GST and PST) in Ontario. However, rest assure that the figure I give you will contain both taxes and will not exceed the cost of what you see in the maxsaver site.

Basically, no surprises, what you see is what you get.

I figure I would mention this for people that can claim money back from their business entities. :)

Just a quick update for everyone. I have received a reply from maxsaver and and the numbers look promising. Some of the items price that they quoted me are a little higher since the shipping cost for individual purchase is different than reseller purchase. Maxsaver is really profitting from individual purchases shipping cost not from resellers.

I will list a few examples this afternoon so you can understand the difference. I have a doctors appointment right now so I will get back to you all in a little bit. Rest assure you are still not paying for shipping cost if you know how much it is I bet you will already retract from this GB :)

The following items price has changed:

Giottos Large Rocket-Air Blower lens cleaner AA-1900 (5.90 -> 6.60)
Remote Switch RS-80N3 (2.50 -> 3.50)
Step-Up Ring Lens-to-Filter (1.95 -> 2.40)
Flash Bounce Diffuser (0.90 -> 1.90)
NEW 72mm Snap-On Front Lens/Filter/Hood Cap for Nikon (1.50 -> 2.00)
Snap-On Front Lens/Filter/Hood Cap for Canon (1.95 -> 2.00)

The changes in price are very minimal, nothing greater than a dollar. People purchasing filters is not affected by price change.

Here's their explanation and example to me why it is higher for wholesale price while it's still a better price for this group buy:

Taking Giotto Rubber Blower 1900 for an example: Website price is 5.90 and if you purchase this item individually you'll be paying 5.00 for shipping, and it comes down to 10.90 for just this item shipped. With wholesale price the price of the item is 6.60 with shipping price of 0.80 which comes down to 7.40. You save $3.50.

Most of the accessories shipping cost range from 3 to 5 dollars per piece. And Filters are 4 dollars a piece if you purchase these items individually. Therefore comparing the price difference to these shipping cost you are saving quite a bit.

I will PM each one of you the final cost for the items you are interested in purchasing. I would like each of you to reply back to me by midnight on Sunday (Sept 20) to say you are ok with the go ahead. *This is important* because I don't want to drag on the time for payment and delivery.

I have just made the payment to Maxsaver. The estimated arrival date for this shipment is Oct 2nd, 2009 (next Friday).

The exchange rate is 1USD = 1.098213207CAD based on PayPal's calculation (As of Sep. 20, 2009 - 23:38:52 EDT).

Correct. I underestimated the price difference on some of the items on their site. And also the number of people that ordered filters (i.e. UV and polarized) are less than expected as well.
