So...I just got my order from BHPhoto. The packaging says UDMA6 but the card itself it UDMA7. Should I be worried that it's fake? I've taken a few shots with it already and formatted it a few times. Seems to work just fine.

If you're concerned go to the Sandisk site and hit the Chat Live button. Could be they updated the product but not the packaging. Costco have unknowingly sold conterfeit cards in the past.

Ashley K.: Hello, thank you for contacting SanDisk. My name is Ashley K.. Please give me a moment while I look into your question.
Jeoffrey Francisco: hello?
Ashley K.: What is written on the face of the card?
Jeoffrey Francisco: udma 7
Jeoffrey Francisco: 32gb extreme pro
Jeoffrey Francisco: i bought it from bh photo
Jeoffrey Francisco: 90mb/s
Jeoffrey Francisco: compact flash
Ashley K.: And when did you purchase it?
Jeoffrey Francisco: 3 days ago. it was delivered just today from bhphoto http://www.bhphotovideo.com/
Ashley K.: Alright, please provide the product code mentioned at the edge of the card.
Jeoffrey Francisco: starts with bm?
Jeoffrey Francisco: BM120413930B
Ashley K.: Thank you. Was the card packaged in sandisk retail blister pack at the time of purchase?
Jeoffrey Francisco: it was packaged in the original carton. the card was also inside a super sealed hard plastic i had to cut with a knige
Jeoffrey Francisco: knife
Jeoffrey Francisco: it even had the coupon to download the disk recovery software good for 1 yr
Ashley K.: Thank you for all the information.
Ashley K.: The Product Code and description that you provided appears to be proper.
Jeoffrey Francisco: ok...
Jeoffrey Francisco: so...it's a 32gb udma 7
Jeoffrey Francisco: how come u guys have no product info on it? the only udma 7 u guys have is for 128gb
Jeoffrey Francisco: extreme pro
Jeoffrey Francisco: and udma 7 is supposed to be 100mb/s
Jeoffrey Francisco: this one is 90mb/s
Ashley K.: You are correct however recently these cards are upgraded to UDMA 7.
Ashley K.: They are not available in our online store as of now.
Ashley K.: First they were UDMA 6, now they are UDMA 7 with the transfer speed of to 90 Mb/s.
Jeoffrey Francisco: umm...that's confusing. i understand that the packaging may be incorrect and the product itself is the upgraded version but to have conflicting information on the card itself is questionable.
Jeoffrey Francisco: plus your site says udma 7 "up to 100mb/s"
Jeoffrey Francisco: and to say these are upgraded to udma 7 and you saying with transf speed of to 90mb/s is incorrect
Jeoffrey Francisco: because udma 6 is already 90mb/s
Jeoffrey Francisco: so..how can that be upgraded?
Ashley K.: On our onlien store, SanDisk Extreme Pro CF card tha provides the transfver speed of up to 100 Mb/s is UDMA 7 and is only avaiable in 128 GB capacity. However recently Extreem Pro CF cards that were UDMA 6, provide the transfer
Ashley K.: However recently Extreme Pro CF cards that were UDMA 6 has been upgraded to UDMA 7.
Jeoffrey Francisco: where's the upgrade?
Ashley K.: However the transfer speed of the card is still 90 Mb/s.
Jeoffrey Francisco: that's really confusing...
Ashley K.: Firstly I apologize for the typing error above.
Jeoffrey Francisco: isnt udma 6's transf speed 90mb/s? i should know..i have a stack of them. i only buy sandisk extremes
Ashley K.: Let me clarify it once again.
Jeoffrey Francisco: ok
Jeoffrey Francisco: hello?
Ashley K.: I am with you.
Jeoffrey Francisco: oh ok
Ashley K.: We have manufactured SanDisk Extreme Pro CF cards UDMA 6 before which provided the transfer speed of up to 90 Mb/s.
Jeoffrey Francisco: correct
Ashley K.: Now they are SanDisk Extreme Pro CF cards UDMA 7 with the same transfer speed of up to 90 Mb/s.
Jeoffrey Francisco: o.O
Ashley K.: These cards not available on our online store as of now.
Jeoffrey Francisco: but...isnt udma7 supposed to provide more throughput?
Jeoffrey Francisco: yes..they're not available online...i understand
Jeoffrey Francisco: what confuses me is how udma6 and udma7 have the same 90mb/s throughput. how is that an upgrade?
Jeoffrey Francisco: when technical details on udma7 says it's slightly faster than 6...
Jeoffrey Francisco: you see where the confusion is? it's like saying, we used to manufacture chevettes but now we're manufacturing corvettes...but with the same engine as a chevette
Ashley K.: I understood. In this case, we need the pictures of the card ( Front, Back, Showing all the codes), packaging, and the proof of purchase of the product.
Ashley K.: We need discuss about this further.
Jeoffrey Francisco: who's we? u guys? :)
Jeoffrey Francisco: but yes...discuss it further as it is very confusing.
Jeoffrey Francisco: ok...
Ashley K.: Yes, I have to discuss this case further.
Jeoffrey Francisco: hold on...let me grab my camera and take pics
Ashley K.: Alright.
Ashley K.: Also you are correct, UDMA 7 provides 100 mb/s transfer speed and UDMA 6 provides 90 Mb/s transfer speed so we cannot say it upgrade.
Ashley K.: I will surely discuss this case but we need to have the proof of purchase, pictures of the card and packaging to make a final judgment.
Jeoffrey Francisco: yup..hold on
Jeoffrey Francisco: transferring images to my pc..
Ashley K.: Alright.
Jeoffrey Francisco: do you have an email i can forward this to?
Ashley K.: You can send it in an attachment as a reply to the e-mail that you would receive after the chat.
Jeoffrey Francisco: oh...
Ashley K.: We will update the status of it within 24 to 48 business hours via e-mail.
Jeoffrey Francisco: i see...
Jeoffrey Francisco: email@email.com
Ashley K.:
We'll send you the incident number that you can use to reference this chat, and also, the chat transcript in a follow-up email.

No.

The product been updated due to whatever technical or logistical reasons, the support team haven't catchup with all the new juicy details. You are getting better than what the box said. In technical term UDMA7 will have higher theoretical thru-put than UDMA6, mostly likely the card reader will need to be UDMA7 capable to see some real life transfer speed difference, not many people will notice anything difference.

Staff in customer service department are services oriented staff, they are not technical people.

^^ I agree with him, customer service is just basically there to assess your concern and elevate it. In this case, she didn't seem to understand how the card was different, can blame her for that, her info sheet was probably outdated. Nonetheless, as long as your card is authentic, thats probably the part that matters the most.

Customer service. They just know how to read scripts.
