hello. i sold my micro 4/3 system last November 2011 and i miss having a small/compact camera in my work bag. i've looked at some new systems like Fuji X10, Panasonic GX-1 and as well the Canon S100. i've been leaning towards the S100 until an old friend of mine from San Diego said to try the Ricoh GRD IV since i really like black and white. the price tag is over my budget but i'm willing to save up more if it's worth the money. i guess i'm looking for members with first hand experience on the Ricoh GRD system. i wanna know not only the good but also the not so good.

The GRD series of cameras offer some of the best ergonomics found in any digital point and shoot camera. Fast to operate, excellent features (SNAP mode), adequate image quality for 8x10 prints in B&W mode, compact, superb lens).

However the IQ is not comparable to current m4/3 and with a fixed 28mm lens it's not as versatile as a camera that offers interchangeable lenses. It's probably not a great 'only' camera but as a carry everywhere, fast operating camera it's hard to beat.

I've owned the Fuji F10/30, GRD (twice), GF-1 and now S95.
