It's not the size that matters...it's how you.... wait...wrong line.

It's not the size of the body that matters. It's how you use your lens that matters.

The longer the lens the better for penetration?

WRONG. Body size is VERY important, how the camera feels in your hands...but you can't get that information from a website.

Back when I was buying my first dSLR I had been using the same light, thin film SLR for 20 years, so that was what I was used to. Unfortunately all the dSLRs at the time were big, bulky, and heavy. Also the brand I wanted was missing the left side of body, so I put off buying until the size, weight, and bulkiness was reduced, and they made a more normal looking camera.

My favourite site for seeing camera size vs. lens size is:
http://www.four-thirds.org/en/special/matching.html

If you want a laugh, select the E-P1 from column 1B, and the Sigma 300-800mm lens from column 2A, and then select the different views (especially the left and top views).

My lens is usually normal size but it can grow in length for the right subject.

Normal size? That depends. Made in Japan or in the USA?

Camera size. Pfffft.

Move upside, and let the man go through.

Anyone notice that a certain company makes its biggest lenses in off white and its smallest lenses in black? Some exec is trying to change the way we percieve size.

Optimistic?
