Hello. I currently own three pocket wizard plus IIs. I almost always use off camera flashes in manual. So I don't see the need to go with TT1/5, specially given the reliability issues they seem to be suffering from when they came out. However, there are times I need to have an on camera flash as well as fire off my external lights. I realize that I could valcro/attach the plus II to the side/bottom of my camera (I shoot with Canon 50D and 7D) and have the on camera flash, but I like the clean look of having a Canon TT1/5 sit on top of my camera, with a flash sitting on top of it. And it firing off my off camera lights attached to plus IIs.

My questions are:

- I can see on the web plenty of people have done it. But I can't seem to find what channels on the TT1/TT5 match the Plus II? TT1/TT5 have Ch1/2 and A/B/C. Whereas Plus II has channels 1/2/3/4. So what matches with what? Can someone point me to where this information is? Or tell from experience?

- Are the reliability issues with the Canon flashes now gone?

I used the PocketWizard utility to reprogram C2 to match one of 4 channels of Plus II channels.

There is also supposed to be a learn function where you can do it without a PC and the utility program...but I haven't tried it.

http://www.pocketwizard.com/products/tr ... /features/

Channels / Learn Mode: The MiniTT1 has two channel configuration settings; C1 and C2. Each can be programmed as needed with up to 20 ControlTL channels* for TTL photography or Manual Power Control, or 32 standard channels** for manual flash photography. Channels can be configured with the PocketWizard utility or use the Learn function to quickly program channels, or the reset function to configure back to factory settings.
* - 20 ControlTL channels for FCC/IC 344 MHz radios and three ControlTL channels for CE 433 MHz radios.
** - 32 Standard channels for FCC/IC 344 MHz radios and 35 Standard channels for CE 433 MHz radios.
