does anyone have a source for cleaning the sensor on a digital P/S like the Panasonic DMC LX3? I've got dirt showing in images and since the camera is "sealed" I'm not sure I want to do this job myself.

Technicians, shops, who ever.. advice is appreciated.

thanks Jan

Since it's a sealed camera, it's very hard to imagine how the sensor can get that dirty and have it affect your pictures. If the sensor is really the problem, then it definitely sounds like professional job to me. I would take that in to a repair shop.

But have you already eliminated other issues? I used to own the LX5 and I couldn't imagine how stuff would get on the sensor....unless significant amount of "stuff" goes in the battery compartment?!

DMC-LX3-lens-issue

look at the top image and you'll see a "?" on the right frame. This piece of detritus moves around inside the images. There's nothing on the lens otherwise it would always be in the same position. Thanks for your insights.

Looks very much like the hair I had trapped in my old DSLR (even after I took it in and had the camera blown out at a camera store which shall remain nameless) and I thought I'd creased the sensor.

You'll need to take yours to a repair shop but for DSLRs the Delkin Sensorscope does an amazing job. I now have a Digital Rebel which I've been able to put back into use as a second body. (Sure, the Rebel sucks but at least I can get away without changing lenses EVERY time I need to change).
