OK, my P&S research is at least 5 years out of date. I'm hoping members can give me some recommendations on what's out there.

I just need something small I can carry around to take pics at
(a) parties (dark areas) and
(b)activities (flying, tracking, etc.).

I dont care about fancier features since I will use my DSLR for everything else but low light, size, and general ability to take pics of fast moving objects would be great.

Hoping to spend about $150 since it wont get much use i dont want to break the bank on this.

Any advice would be awesome!

Ahh...you realize that low light and fast moving action is exactly the kind of thing you need a DSLR for?

In bright outdoor or studio lighted conditions - you can get away with an iPhone camera...

Your closest bet in a P&S are the high-end compacts with the relatively bigger sensors (as compared to other compacts) - S95 / LX5 / XZ-1 / EX-1 - but those are not $150...

Next step up would be the m4/3, EVIL cameras - but again those are not $150 cameras...

The EX-1 or S95 would be the cheapest right now.

I have both the EX1 and the S95. Very different cameras. I like the EX1 if I'm carrying the snap-r bag. Without it, I reach for the S95 which fits perfectly in the pocket. I kinda like the ex1 more :) But it sounds like the S95 would fit the bill for you.

A second hand Canon s90 might come in alot closer to your budget then the s95.
