Hi, just wondering what I should use to clean around the lens mount area. Not sure if I'm using the correct term on not. I'm talking about the metal area where the lens mounts to the camera.

Should I be doing this? or should I just leave the dust and dirt?

I just use one of my old microfiber lens cleaner to carefully wipe away any gunk buildup on the mounts.

You can also use rubbing alchol on a qtip to carefully clean the contacts.

I do both of the mentioned methods about once every 4 months (once a quarter)... never had any issues

just be careful not to get any alcohol on the inside where the mirror and sensor are.

I read somewhere that lenses that produce hex shaped bokeh don't need to be cleaned as much. Just kidding!!! :D
